Awareness

Each year, more than hundred million tons of petroleum-based plastic are used through out the world. Over 30 million tons are supplied to packaging industries. Packaging represents the largest single sector of plastic consumption in the world. Plastic are man-made materials to fulfill our needs in sophisticated societies and daily lifestyles. Unfortunately, plastic waste, which is non-degradable, cause damages to the environment due to its difficulty to dispose of as well as the potential leaching of associated additives to natural reserves.

Some plastic packaging may be use only a few minutes before turning to imperishable garbage. Single-use foodservice ware, such as plastic cutlery and shipping bags are perfect examples of non-degradable products which contribute a significant impact on environment, especially global warming and human toxicity.

We are Searching for Solutions. By Creating Environmental friendly Packaging.

An increasing plastic waste problems both in the land filled and ocean give rise to the need for various types of generally applicable solutions and investors started searching for new alternative materials for environmental benefits and solution to different uses, temporary or durable in order to reduce consumption of energy and amount of solid waste going to landfill. Ideally, these innovative materials should be relative inexpensive to produce and extremely versatile. Choosing to address the environment problem and considering the agriculture economic base of the country, Kasetsart University create environmental friendly food packaging using cassava starch in 1998.
